This ties in nicely with the point above. I’m sure that you’ll agree that having great communication is the basis of any successful relationship. Without having clear communication you’ll experience frustration with mixed messages and misunderstandings, which leads to tension and friction (AKA fighting and arguments) within your relationship

How often do you hear a woman complain, “He just doesn’t understand me.” As a man, how often do you think to yourself that women are like the confusing final frontier to be ‘figured out?’

Here’s the bottom line. Men and women are different because they’re supposed to be. Men and women act/say/think/ things very differently – but they’re supposed to be. This doesn’t mean that you both have to change – you just need a better understanding how each of you deals with different situations. Take responsibility and learn about these differences – when you do, it’s like you’ve switched from driving off-road onto the 6 lane super express highway in your relationship – smooth…

Here’s an example. I know that my wife loves to know the details about what’s going on. Where the restaurant is, how we’re going to get there, what the dress code is, how busy it gets, do they have organic, wheat free…you get the picture. On the other hand, I can get by on the bare minimum. Since I understand that having details is important to her I now make a conscious effort to get the details – it’s easy to do and she loves me for it!

Figure out (its not that hard) what she really likes in terms of showing affection and love – and do more of it. Just because you like one thing, doesn’t necessarily mean that it rocks her boat.

I always thought I was a pretty romantic guy, until I found out that while my wife thought the candle lit dinners and strolls in the park were ok – but what she really wanted was for me to actually tell her I loved her more often. Big difference when I started doing this.

So start taking note of the things you notice that are important to her. Women really notice it when you do the smallest things to make her feel special.
