Did you know that men and women speak different languages of love? We all show love in different ways and most of the time we will do something for others that we would like done to ourselves.

For example, you may love having all your clothes cleaned, meals cooked and some home baking. If this is the case, then your predominant language of love (when your partner does this for you, you feel loved) may be acts of service.

If this was your main language of love you might be led to believe that by performing tasks for your partner by keeping yourself busy doing the lawns, washing the windows, hanging out the washing etc. you’re expressing your love to her.

If this isn’t her predominant love language then you may have some big problems - because chances are she’s actually feeling totally neglected!

If you got into an argument and she told you that she doesn’t feel loved you might answer by saying, “What about all the things I do around the house. I am always busy doing the lawns, making sure the garden is looking beautiful and keeping the house clean.” And replies by saying, “But you never have time for me. We never spend any time together.”

Can you see the misalignment of values here? I suggest you get together with your partner and find out what is important to them. Ask them what makes them really feel loved and tell her what makes you feel loved.

This is so powerful and has enhanced and saved many relationships.
